Vote

If the number of nominations received is more than the number of vacancies, a vote will be held.

If you’re on the parent, staff, or student electoral roll for a board election currently underway at your school or kura, you can vote for your preferred candidate.

Eligible voters will receive their voting forms and candidate profiles (either in paper or online format) at least 28 days before the election date.

If you’re an eligible voter and haven’t received yours, please get in touch with your school or kura.

How to vote?

Make your vote count by ensuring you have read and understood the voting process.

Firstly, find out about the candidates by reading the profiles.

The voting form will detail the maximum number of candidates you can vote for – be careful not to vote for more candidates than there are positions, otherwise your vote will be invalid.

There are a range of options for returning your voting papers – make sure you get them in on time!

What happens once the election is over?

The results are declared, and those who receive the highest number of votes are duly elected.
